The St. Vincent de Paul Society was founded in May, 1833,
by Frederick Ozanam, a brilliant young Frenchman, lawyer, author and professor
at the
Sorbonne along with seven other young men.
The Society provides financial, moral and
ethical assistance to the poor, the sick, the infirm, and the unemployed without distinction of creed or
race.
