Joan E. Christ-West
Composer, Arranger, Organist, Concert Pianist and Keyboard Artist

This recording was produced in memory of Joan Elizabeth West who passed away on October 29, 2000 following a valiant battle with cancer.  Her strong faith enabled her to choose the music to be played at her funeral mass, concelebrated by Father Patrick Tepoorten and Craig Scott, at Our Lady of Fatima church and the title song "Here I am, Lord" was one of those selected.

Joan, often playing two electronic keyboards simultaneously, seems to be accompanied by a whole orchestra. At the request of several close friends, these recordings were made in her living room only four months before she passed away.  They are a tribute to her talents, her Faith in God and her passion for music.

Having devoted her entire life to church music, teaching and performing on grand piano, organ and keyboard, this recording demonstrates her beautifully expressive touch and variety of musical treatments on the keyboard.

Joan is missed by her loving husband John, her daughter Barbara and her husband, Pierre Bourbonnais, her son Mark and his wife, Leslie and by her five wonderful grandsons, Matthew, André, Bobby, Jean-Claude and James.

We are fortunate indeed to have her music to enjoy forever.

Joan heard the Lord calling in the night and she freely accepted His invitation to join His choir of angels.
