Our Lady Of Fatima Parish is comprised of a rich mosaic of individuals stemming from a cohesive multi-cultural background. We would like to acknowledge our parishioners who, by their deeds, have diligently and consistently been role-models in our Christian Community. In the spirit of Ste. Thérèse de Lisieux, these individuals have gone about their daily lives dedicated to making this place a better world for whomever they encountered in whatever way and in whatever measure they could. Ste. Thérèse tells us that we have all been blessed by the Shepherd with some characteristic or some ability that can be shared with others to help alleviate their woes or rejoice in their happiness. It may be as little as a smile, a hand to hold, an arm to touch... even a silent prayer. In Memoriam is intended to be not only a tribute to our unsung heroes and heroines but also to vicariously perpetuate their influence on people they may have never met and inspire us to follow in their footsteps and strive to be the best that we can be. |

Mary Kierans April 19, 1919 ~ June 3, 2004 I knew Mary for some 10 to 12 years before she passed away. She always struck me as a frail, thin woman but with an uncommon energy. She always had a kind smile and always the life of the party dancing up a storm whether it be .Oktoberfest, a Fifties Dance or just about any social gathering. I knew the Mary we all saw but not the Mary as she really was. It's only in the last years or so that I found out more about Mary and her involvement with so many varied organizations, her works of charity and of compassion, her activities in the Diocese and The Legion of Mary and many more. Mary was an ordinary woman with an extraordinary outlook on life. A Memorial website has been created to commemorate her life at: http://www.memorialfarewells.com/MaryKierans

Joan Elizabeth West April 29, 1931 ~ October 29, 2000 Joan's gift was one of music. It was a gift she willingly and enthusiastically shared with us. Formally trained on piano, she was able to easily migrate to the organ and finally to the electronic keyboard. She became a virtuoso mastering two multi-tiered keyboards simultaneously to the point where one could easily be led to believe there was a full orchestra accompanying her. She dedicated her whole life to Church music and when she played, the magic of her inimitable style would echo softly throughout the church. Just prior to her death, she made sure that her magnificent grand piano would continue to pour out it's full, rich tones in our parish and help us open our hearts and our minds to God.. You can hear a few excerpts of two Fatima Parish fund-raising CDs produced from her recordings on her memorial website at: http://www.memorialfarewells.com/JoanWest
